Bikram Yoga in Fremont, CA
There is an excellent Bikram Yoga studio in Fremont. Bikram is not for everyone, certainly not the faint hearted. But the health benefits of this practice are amazing. I just recently got back to class after a hiatus for a year, and remembered how great I feel when I go regularly.
In practicing Bikram, the room temperature is heated to about 105 degrees. This, contrary to popular belief, actually prevents the body from overheating, and allows for your muscles to be protected from very deep stretching, and opens your pores so you can sweat out all toxins in your body. There are 26 poses that are each done twice; a warm up series, a balancing series, and a floor series. Each posture and breathing exercise is designed to work every part of your body, literally, every single ligament, tendon and muscle!
The benefits of Bikram are amazing. The stretching and balancing is a part of it, so is creating pressure to your veins and arteries. When the pressure is released, the arteries and veins are flushed out. It’s good for all the major joints in your body, preventing arthritis, good for your internal organs, anxiety, depression, and hormonal balance to name a few.
My life is hectic. I am a single mom to 2 boys, I run a full time real estate business and that can be stressful. Bikram Yoga makes me feel calm, centered, focused, and relaxed.
It is good to at least double your intake of water and not eat anything 2-3 hours before a class. You need to wear clothes are not restricting. I try to go to Bikram at least 3 times per week. It is a 90 minute class. I feel less stressed, healthy, flexible, and my skin looks great!
Fremont’s Bikram Yoga studio was just voted Best Yoga Studio by Fremont Bulletin readers. It is located at 43528 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538, if you feel like giving it a go!
